According to Politico, House leadership has reversed course and will not bring the chamber back into session next Monday, May 4th. Hoyer canceled this morning, citing advice from the Capitol physician and a continuing increase in Coronavirus cases in the Washington, D.C. Area.
House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer had announced yesterday in a Caucus conference call that the House would be in session beginning next week and that votes were possible.

A number of House Democrats rebelled against the original plan, with Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, a Florida Democrat who previously led the Democratic National Committee, calling the move ‘dangerous,’ Politico reported.
Hoyer said that “We made a judgment that we will not come back next week but that we hope to come back very soon.”
Data released this morning shows jumps in the number of cases and deaths in D.C. announced as it was announced that there were an additional 102 cases and five deaths in the district.
Maryland announced another 626 cases and 71 deaths. Virginia shared news of another 758 cases and 33 deaths with 432 of the cases being in the 3 populous Northern Virginia counties of Fairfax, Prince William, and Loudon.
