Idaho State Board of Education Agrees to Ban Coercive ‘Diversity Statements’ in Public Universities in Major Win for Conservative Group

After a long-fought battle, the Idaho State Board of Education has banned “Diversity Statements” in public universities, much to the chagrin of the radical left-wing activists who have embedded themselves into the higher education systems throughout the nation, including Republican majority states such as Idaho.

Critical in getting this recommendation made were Idaho Freedom Foundation’s Anna K. Miller, Boise State Professor Scott Yenor, and State Senator Brian Lenney, who we previously interviewed here.

Scott Yenor retweeted this:

“Congratulations to @annakate_miller and @scottyenor! Their research and recommendations helped immensely in getting this resolution passed.”

Anna K. Miller of the Idaho Freedom Foundation gave a statement exclusively to Media Right News:

I have been exposing the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) corruption in Idaho higher education for years and the State Board of Education has been reluctant to oppose DEI, despite the fact that the public resoundingly opposes this divisive ideology. The passage of this resolution marks a decided shift in the Board’s thinking and demonstrates how the fight against woke ideology in higher education is escalating. The board has now condemned DEI as a corrupt force in higher education. If diversity statements are bad, so are diversity offices at public universities. The next step for the Board should be to abolish all DEI offices in higher education. If left unchecked, DEI bureaucracies will swallow universities whole.

Miller tweeted an exhaustive thread explaining the resolution:

“The Idaho State Board of Education has followed our recommendation to ban coercive “Diversity Statements” in public universities. The board passed a resolution “Prohibiting…diversity statements from candidates applying for employment at Idaho’s four-year public universities.”

“Congratulations to the Idaho State Board of Education on calling out our public universities for requiring that candidates pledge fealty to the CRT-DEI ideological framework, in both word and deed.”

“Our Center for American Education @idahofreedom has been exposing this problem for years and have called on the state to ban DEI statements in higher Ed.”

@brian_lenney asked the SBOE President about this problem during the 2023 legislative session. The SBOE has finally taken action to stand up against DEI in higher education.”

“If the board thinks DEI statements are bad, then the DEI offices on campus should be considered bad, too. The next step for our board should be to abolish all DEI bureaucracies in Idaho’s public universities.”

The Idaho Freedom Foundation put out its own tweet:

“Idaho Freedom Foundation and the Center for American Education have long called for prohibition of coercive “diversity statements” in higher ed hiring. Today, the State Board of Education has followed through. #idpol #idleg #idedu

Senator Lenney in a video showed the world what kind of things were happening. “Do you think that adhering to a DEI-type ideology should be a barrier or prerequisite to working at a university?” he asked the state board of education president.

DEI is diversity equity and inclusion. It sounds great on paper to some, but to others, it means less opportunity for people who may deserve it most solely based on merit, because they happen to be of the wrong color or other orientation.

During a time when mothers are scrapping for their children at school board meetings to simply not be indoctrinated with smut and race-based propaganda from the left, many conservative legislators are taking it to the universities as well, and pushing back on the left-wing snowball that many feel is ruining the nation.

  1. Someone said the acronym should be changed to
DIE. Makes a lot more sense.
DIE translated means D-ivision of races, I-nclusion of only blacks, E-xclusion of whites..

DIE equals death to America and that’s what the marxists communist want.

    1. Yep, I’ve been calling it DIE for some time now, for precisely that reason–it it spells the death of our Republic.

  2. I don’t recall people discussing “race” during the 30 years prior to b.o.’s first two illegitimate terms.

Btw, the lady in the photo is as gloriously beautiful as I could imagine any woman even wishing to be!
