Jim Jordan Wonders if California and New York Will Be Done Counting Votes ‘Before Inauguration Day’

With states like California and New York still counting ballots as we enter the month of December, many are getting frustrated that the final tallies still aren’t in.

Ohio Republican House Rep. Jim Jordan lamented today that, “It’s been four weeks since Election Day, and they’re still counting votes in California and New York.”

Jordan wondered, “Will they be done before Inauguration Day?”

Ohio Republican Secretary of State Frank LaRose certified the results of his state’s November general election on Friday, awarding the state’s 18 electoral votes to President Donald Trump.

The New York City Board of Elections missed the legal deadline to submit their final election results to the state, which was originally set for November 28th and it was reported that city election officials plan to submit the results today, but it is unclear if that has happened yet or not.

In California, counties are supposed to report the final results of the presidential contest to the California Secretary of State, Democrat Alex Padilla, today, but it is unclear if that will happen or not.

California Counties are also supposed to report the final results of all other state and federal races to Padilla by December 4th and they are supposed to be certified by December 11th with the Electoral College convening on December 14th.
