On his Fox News show last night, “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” Tucker Carlson brought journalist Glenn Greenwald on to discuss his bewilderment that the “government” and “media” appear to have their “knives out” for Biden after the Afghanistan debacle.
During the segment, Greenwald stated that he believes, “A lot of official Washington doesn’t want this withdraw. They didn’t want it with Trump. They didn’t want it with Biden.”
Greenwald explained how the Russia bounty scandal was leaked to the media not long after Trump announced that he planned to withdraw from the nation.
“What you’re saying is that we imagined CNN is controlled by the DNC, when in fact they are controlled by the CIA,” Carlson said.
Greenwald then pointed out that the American people feel betrayed because Biden assured us that the Afghanistan military forces would be able to handle the country, rather than letting us know that the Taliban would take over.

A recent CNN panel “nitpicked” Biden and he was accused of deflecting blame for the “Afghanistan mess.”
Throughout the segment, Biden was accused of not being honest about what was happening there and not “leveling” with the American people.
As we reported before, Jake Tapper was critical of Biden in the immediate aftermath of what happened in Kabul.
From The Daily Mail:
Tapper said that Biden was ‘forced to speak to the nation after the calamity of the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan.’
He continued: ‘The president said that the buck stopped with him, but in fact the speech was full of finger pointing and blame, especially for the Afghans – even saying that, while the US would be working to rescue those Americans and US allies who needed to be saved, he claimed part of the reason why the US did not save sooner Afghan allies – the translators and others who work with the US military, who fear being slaughtered by the Taliban – they didn’t act sooner, the president said, because some Afghans didn’t want to leave earlier because they were hopeful about a new Afghan government.
‘Mr Biden also said that the Afghan government discouraged the US from ordering a mass exodus for fear of triggering a crisis of confidence.’
Tapper said that Biden ‘focused on the larger decision to end the US presence in Afghanistan,’ without addressing the debacle of departure.Â
‘Whether or not the US should continue to be there he did not get in to, or accept any blame for the catastrophic exit we’ve been watching on television in the last several days,’ Tapper said.
Many on the left will say that it is simply the media attempting to show that they aren’t biased, but it remains to be seen if this will be part of a larger fracture to come.
