Arizona State Senator Wendy Rogers (R), who has been at the forefront of the Arizona election integrity push, hailed the news. This comes on the same day that New York Governor Andrew Cuomo resigned as well, for sexual harassment allegations against at least 11 women.
“I am glad that former senator Navarette has resigned from the prestigious Arizona Senate. We do not tolerate that kind of despicable behavior & I pray for those who were affected by why he did. We must have basic moral & legal standards & hold people accountable. #ProtectOurKids“

David Caron with Media Right News previously reported on this Senator:
Details have emerged regarding the arrest of LGBTQ Caucus member and Arizona Democratic State Sen Tony Navarrete.
It has been reported that he was charged with seven felonies in conjunction with sexual conduct with two male teenagers.
The Arizona Legislative Democrats issued a statement calling on Navarrete to resign after he appeared in court for a bond hearing.
“In light of these disturbing charges, House and Senate Democrats are calling on Senator Navarrete to resign immediately. Abuse of this kind is intolerable and our hearts go out to the victims,” the Arizona Senate Democrats said in a tweet with the statement.
Wendy Rogers previously opined on the subject, agreeing with Republican Governor of Arizona Doug Ducey:
“I concur with Governor @dougducey. Resign ASAP. We must protect our children from evil like this.”

AZ State Senator Kelly Townsend (R) also tweeted about the breaking news today, as she has been following this story as well.
“To all victims, I hope this is one small step toward healing. May we all reflect on the innocent today, and vow to protect them.”

Earlier, before Navarrete resigned, she tweeted this bombshell:
“It has come to my attention that Sen. Navarrete was told to not resign immediately and use his resignation as part of his plea deal. This is beyond reprehensible and he needs to resign today, or be removed. Every moment he is in office is a slap in the face to victims everywhere.”
