Kamala Harris Accuses Trump of Throwing ‘White Supremacists’ a ‘Welcome Home Party’ With Tulsa Rally

It was announced yesterday that President Trump will be holding his first rally since states began shutting down in response to the Coronavirus pandemic in Tulsa, Oklahoma on June 19th.

Critics were quick to pounce on the decision and none were more vocal than Senator Kamala Harris who shared a Los Angeles Times article that linked the decision to Tulsa’s history.

This isn’t just a wink to white supremacists—he’s throwing them a welcome home party.

Presumed Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden also seized on the announcement during a press conference in Philadelphia, Pennslyvania, except that he bungled the destination by saying that President Trump is going to Texas instead of Oklahoma.

Trump is in Texas today for a round table discussion on race relations and policing. He will also hold a fundraising event.

Also Biden appeared to indicate that day was when the Black Wall Street massacre occurred, but Juneteenth represents emancipation of the slaves, while the massacre anniversary days are May 31st and June 1st.

Joe Biden doesn’t know what Juneteenth is:

“He’s going down to Texas on Juneteenth, right? The first major massacre … of the Black Wall Street, right?”

  1. President Trump is going to Texas today, not June 19
  2. Juneteenth is about emancipation
  3. The massacre was in Oklahoma

From The Hill:

Katrina Pierson, spokeswoman for the Trump campaign, told The Hill in an emailed statement that the campaign recognized the importance of Juneteenth, which marks the day on which the Emancipation Proclamation was read to a group of enslaved black Americans in Texas.

“As the party of Lincoln, Republicans are proud of the history of Juneteenth, which is the anniversary of the last reading of the Emancipation Proclamation. President Trump has built a record of success for Black Americans, including unprecedented low unemployment prior to the global pandemic, all-time high funding for Historically Black Colleges and Universities, and criminal justice reform,” she said.

“[Former Vice President] Joe Biden (D) spent last Juneteenth raising money at a private fundraiser and defending comments he made celebrating his work with segregationist senators,” Pierson continued.
