Biden Makes it ‘Clear’ That ‘The Voters Should Pick a President’ and RBG’s Successor

Democratic Presidential candidate Joe Biden made an in-person and on-camera statement about the passing of RBG tonight and also issued a pair of tweets. He did not take questions from reporters although they attempted to ask some.

In his first tweet, he talked about Ginsburg’s life, saying “Ruth Bader Ginsburg stood for all of us. She was an American hero, a giant of legal doctrine, and a relentless voice in the pursuit of that highest American ideal: Equal Justice Under Law. May her memory be a blessing to all people who cherish our Constitution and its promise.”

The second one addressed the growing controversy surrounding whether there will be a new Supreme Court Justice before the election. Biden made his position known by saying, “Let me be clear: The voters should pick a President, and that President should select a successor to Justice Ginsburg.”

In Biden’s on-camera statement he called it “very sad news.” He talked about what she overcame as a woman to achieve what she did. He also spoke about how he presided over her confirmation hearing.
