County Commissioner Whose Daughter Said She Wanted Ron DeSantis Assassinated Clutches Pearls Over Proposed Trump Named Highway

After Florida State Rep. Anthony Sabatini (R) announced earlier this week that he would be sponsoring an amendment to rename U.S. Highway 27 as the “President Donald J. Trump Highway” many supporters of the former president were enthusiastic about the idea.

One Palm Beach County commissioner, Melissa McKinlay, who briefly entered a 2016 state race as a Democrat, however came out publicly yesterday in a series of tweets and stated that she would not back his attempt to rename the state highway.

McKinlay wasn’t done, however, and in a tweet issued just prior to midnight last night, she referenced the Access Hollywood tape that was released prior to the 2016 election where President Trump made some comments in private to Billy Bush that opponents seized on.

“Let’s be very clear. I am a woman. I am a Mom. I support women. If you say you can grab me or my daughters or any woman by her genitalia because you are rich, I am NOT going to support naming ANYTHING in your honor,” McKinlay insisted in the tweet.

McKinlay then added, “I don’t give a damn who you are. Thanks. Have a good weekend.”

A supporter of Trump replied back, “McKinlay, did you condemn Kathy Griffin when she posted a picture of her holding Trumps severed head? Or was this acceptable to you and your filthy party?”

McKinlay, couldn’t resist responding and replied, “I wouldn’t support naming anything after her. That’s the issue at hand.”

That person then shot back, “It must suck for you to live in the great RED state of Florida, so close to Pres. Trump. Maybe you should move to New York or California.”

McKinlay engaged in another tit-for-tat and replied, “You must hate that he lost the White House. Enjoy your weekend.”

“Florida tax payers should know why your daughter was not arrested or charged with inciting violence against our governor. It’s a absolute fair question,” that Twitter user responded to McKinlay.

McKinlay, clearly irritated issued retorted, “So now you want to attack my kid because I don’t want to erect Trump signs on US Highway 27? That’s your retort? I wish you well. Best of luck to you. #Troll”

In November, McKinley’s 19-year-old daughter commented on a tweet about Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), and posted “someone assassinate him already.”

The tweet was in reference to the governor’s decision to draft legislation that would expand Florida’s “Stand Your Ground” law to protect citizens after riots over the summer got out of control at times.

McKinlay addressed that situation at the time and called the matter a “very unfortunate situation” that her father and her were “handling.”
