The New York Times recently broke what they believe to be a bombshell which described how the Department of Justice was investigating the many leaks that took place early on in the Trump presidency by investigating Democratic members of Congress that were believed to have possibly been responsible.
The mainstream media and Democrats have latched onto the news, calling for investigations to begin into the investigations that took place, with many referencing former President Richard Nixon and the Watergate scandal.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) claimed on CNN this morning, “In terms of the data mining, what the Republicans did, what the administration did, the Justice Department under the leadership of the former president, goes even beyond Richard Nixon.”
The Hill reported on the interview:
Pelosi added on Sunday that Attorneys General Bill Barr and Jeff Sessions’ claims that they did not know about the probe are “beyond belief,” and that Congress will have to call them to testify under oath about the reported investigation.
This is about undermining the rule of law,” Pelosi said. “Attorneys General Barr and Sessions, at least two to say, that they didn’t know anything about it, is beyond belief. So we will have to have them come under oath to testify about that now,” Pelosi said.
When asked if she would subpoena Barr, Sessions and former Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein to testify before Congress if they are not willing to appear voluntarily, Pelosi said “let’s hope that they will want to honor the rule of law.”
Pelosi also said the Justice Department under Trump was “rogue,” adding “this is just another manifestation of their rogue activity.”
MSNBC labeled a segment with anchor Ari Melber, “MAGA Scandal Explodes: Trump Goes Full Nixon, DOJ Surveilled Political Enemies.”
“This is abusing some of the most serious powers of search of 4th Amendment constitutional oversight and abusing that,” Melber began in his segment.
Many in the media believe they can make these outrageous comparisons with no accountability and meanwhile, the current Attorney General Merrick Garland is publicly attempting to intimidate officials into shutting down the 2020 presidential election audit in Arizona.
Biden delegate Lindy Li, tweeted, “Nixon’s Attorney General, John Mitchell, went to prison for crimes that look like child’s play compared to what Trump and Barr did With our democracy in peril, we need Attorney General Merrick Garland to step up with the force of a thousand suns.”

With our democracy in peril, we need Attorney General Merrick Garland to step up with the force of a thousand suns.
Watergate figurehead Attorney John Dean, who in March believed that an indictment against “Trump & Co.” was imminent (which hasn’t happened) said that this situation is “Nixon On Stilts And Steroids.”
Dean also recently appeared on CNN and told anchor Erin Burnett that the actions of former President Donald Trump’s DOJ went far beyond what his former boss ever did and that “Nixon didn’t have that kind of Department of Justice,”
