Disgraced Governor Andrew Cuomo’s Secretary Resigns Amid Democrat Calls for Him to Resign, is the End Near?

We’ve seen this playbook before. Democrat Governor of Virginia Ralph Northam showed us exactly what it is. When he was exposed for allegedly being in either blackface or KKK garb in his college yearbook, many Democrats called on him to resign. He apologized and stood firm. He never resigned.

Now, Democrats love him again. Although we can’t say for sure, it’s likely that many Democrats like President Joe Biden, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senate Leader Chuck Schumer, and many others are calling for New York Governor Cuomo’s resignation as standard protocol.

But if Cuomo can stay in his position he probably will. That’s our opinion analysis. But perhaps his secretary resigning will hit closer to home? Melissa DeRosa wrote a resignation letter. Breaking 911 thinks “the end is near”.

She wrote:

“It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve the people of New York for the past 10 years. New Yorkers’ resilience, strength, and optimism through the most difficult times has inspired me every day. Personally, the last two years have been emotionally trying. I am forever grateful for the opportunity to have worked for such talented and committed colleagues on behalf of our state.”

She didn’t even mention the Governor. Oof.

Meanwhile, it is being reported that Governor Cuomo wants to cut a deal to avoid the impeachment process. It’s definitely ugly for him, but he doesn’t want to leave.

“NEW: As the Assembly readies to begin the impeachment process, The State Senate is in talks to hire lawyers with impeachment experience to help navigate the process.”

CNN reported in part:

DeRosa’s resignation comes on the eve of a meeting of the state Assembly’s Judiciary Committee that could deliver a timeline for Cuomo’s potential impeachment. The 38-year-old, who held the highest-ranking appointed position in the state, appeared throughout New York State Attorney General Letitia James’ August 3 report, in which investigators concluded that Cuomo sexually harassed 11 women, including current and former state employees. The report detailed a “toxic” workplace environment under Cuomo and said that environment allowed for his allegedly harassing behavior to go overlooked. It also highlighted alleged instances of retaliation against at least one accuser.

Cuomo has denied the allegations, saying last week that he “never touched anyone inappropriately or made inappropriate sexual advances.”

The report detailed DeRosa’s role in seeking to discredit one of Cuomo’s accusers, Lindsey Boylan, by leaking personnel records and taking part in an effort to write and release a letter questioning Boylan’s character. The document was never made public.

Stay tuned for more updates on this fluid situation.
