In a December interview with satire site “The Babylon Bee,” the world’s richest man Elon Musk revealed that he accepts Jesus as his lord and savior.
Not only that, but Musk also told the hosts that he has been baptized and discussed his spiritual upbringing as well as stories from the Bible.
Musk answered questions throughout the interview on multiple topics with the Christian website’s CEO Seth Dillon, Editor-in-Chief Kyle Mann, and Creative Director Ethan Nicolle.
As CBN News reported, towards the end of the interview, Nicolle asked Musk, “Babylon Bee is a Christian organization and we’re a ministry. …To make this church, we’re wondering if you could do us a quick solid and accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior? … Personal Lord and Savior. It’s a quick prayer.”
Musk appeared a bit hesitant at first before responding, “I agree with the principles that Jesus advocated. There’s some great wisdom in the teachings of Jesus, and I agree with those teachings.”
“Things like ‘turn the other cheek’ are very important, as opposed to ‘an eye for an eye’. An eye for an eye leaves everyone blind. Forgiveness is important and treating people as you would wish to be treated. ‘Love thy neighbor as thyself.’ Very important,” Musk pointed out while playing coy.
Ultimately, Musk declared, “But hey, if Jesus is saving people, I mean, I won’t stand in his way. Sure, I’ll be saved. Why not?”
“I think he just said yes,” Nicolle chimed in as the hosts celebrated and suggested that perhaps he should get baptized.
Musk, however, shot back, and appeared somewhat offended, “I was baptized” before then going on to discuss his experience with taking the Eucharist.
Additionally, Musk discussed some of the stories from the bible that he had questions about, which is normal for many Christians.
