Ahead of a scheduled rally on Saturday in Phoenix, Arizona, Donald Trump has handed out a pair of $5,000 checks to two Arizona Republican elected officials who have been great supporters of his and have received his endorsement.
The checks were sent to both State Sen Wendy Rogers, who is running for re-election, and State Rep. Mark Finchem, who is running to become the next Secretary of State.
Trump wrote the same message in a note that was accompanied by each of the checks, which are issued through his Save America PAC.
Liberals have often claimed that the PAC is a grift for Trump, but it is clear that he is supporting candidates and possibly stockpiling money for a presidential run.
Trump wrote, “I am pleased to send the enclosed check in support of your campaign.”
“Our nation is strong because of courageous patriots like you who believe in – and defend – the great American ideals of faith, family, community, and country first,” Trump explained.
Trump added, “I will never stop fighting for the America you and I cherish, and I am pleased to lend my support and encouragement for your efforts to protect and preserve the American dream for the citizens of Arizona.”
In response, Rogers declared in a tweet, “Mr. President – thank you from the bottom of my heart for the support. You are a great leader and are changing America for the better by fighting for other #AmericaFirst candidates. Arizona loves you!”
Finchem responded to the note and check, “I am truly honored that President Trump would send me money ($5k) for my campaign.”
“We should be sending him money for what he has endured for this nation. He didn’t even take a salary. Thank you, sir – I won’t let you down!” Finchem insisted.
Rogers had also tweeted out earlier today, “I love President Trump – he always has our back. Thank you, sir.”
