Brian Stelter Could be Next on Cancel Culture’s List After Whoopi and Zucker as Calls Mount to Fire Him Amid CNN’s ‘Scandalgate’

Democrats arguably started the cancel culture movement in our opinion. Others may disagree. We do feel there is a lot of evidence out there to back up our opinion of course. However, cancel culture is a slippery slope.

It’s like a growing monster that can’t stop or be controlled and gets harder and harder to reckon with the more it takes on a life of its own. We are reaching that point now in today’s society. It’s clear that many conservatives have been canceled for saying various controversial things. Occasionally people get canceled for seemingly no reason at all.

Social media companies often “make mistakes” and sometimes they’ll even admit they make mistakes, so we can only assume that there are instances out there when mistakes get made and do not get rectified sadly.

That’s not to say that there aren’t good-faith actors within social media companies, but even we know that silicon valley is a left-leaning region and companies like Facebook tend to have more left-leaning employees for that reason and potentially other reasons, the former being something Mark Zuckerberg has admitted himself on record.

Other people get fired from their jobs or lose their friends over cancel culture. Occasionally people are convicted of crimes such as murder or other horrific things and in our view, that’s not the same thing as being canceled for political opinions.

But we digress. The culture that was cultivated in our view by the left is now starting to hurt the left themselves. Whoopi Goldberg is in big trouble as you already know. CNN’s Jeff Zucker just resigned over an inappropriate relationship as you probably know as well.

CNN’s Jeffrey Toobin got his job back after a long vacation for accidentally exposing himself on a live Zoom. Now it appears that CNN’s Brian Stelter is under fire. One of former President Trump’s biggest critics is facing criticism of his own amid a total meltdown at CNN following Chris Cuomo’s firing.

Many are calling for Stelter to be canned for covering for Zucker, or not exposing the ongoing romantic relationship between him and senior executive Allison Gollust. From the NYP:

Stelter, 36, the network’s top media reporter and host of its “Reliable Sources” Sunday show, either dropped the ball by not exposing Zucker and Gollust or showed a stunning lack of awareness by not being privy to their romance, a CNN insider fumed to the Daily Mail.

“The network needs to step up and fire Brian Stelter,” the unidentified source said. “He is allegedly our top media reporter — yet he failed to report on the scoop that everyone in the office knew. And if he wants to say he didn’t know, he is truly terrible at his job.”

Time will tell what happens with Stelter, and if Cooper and Lemon find themselves in any hot water next, in a possible total shakeup at CNN while their ratings have been in the tank, or if this is the end of the fallout. We will do our best to bring updates to this developing situation as it unfolds.
