It was reported today that Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Vladimir Putin has agreed to send a delegation to Belarus to meet with Ukrainian officials.
The comments were made after Volodymyr Zelensky said he is willing to negotiate Ukraine’s stance on NATO membership as Russian forces closed in on the Ukrainian capital of Kiev.
Stocks appear to have rebounded and crude oil prices have dropped as well, according to the latest figures, following the latest news.
Ukraine has been firm in wanting to join the NATO alliance, but after the invasion broke out, Zelensky said the country would consider a nonaligned status after appeals for more support has failed.
Meanwhile, on Fox News, there are different opinions about what role the possible entrance of Ukraine into NATO has played in the whole invasion.
Fox News contributor Brit Hume insisted that it didn’t play much of one and appeared on Tucker Carlson’s show last night to explain his position.
Hume tweeted after, “Seeing a lot of claims that if we’d just promised Ukraine would not join NATO, this attack could have been avoided. I don’t buy it.”
“Ukraine in NATO, though vaguely once promised, was not currently on the table. Putin wanted Ukraine back and always had,” Hume claimed.
According to Richard Hanania, a recent poll showed Russians would favor a war to keep Ukraine out of NATO by a 2-1 margin, 50% to 25% while opposing a war to merge the two countries.

Another Fox News contributor, Tulsi Gabbard, has also been on Carlson’s show and offered an opposing viewpoint.
In a tweet of her own on Wednesday, Gabbard declared, “This war and suffering could have easily been avoided if Biden Admin/NATO had simply acknowledged Russia’s legitimate security concerns regarding Ukraine’s becoming a member of NATO, which would mean US/NATO forces right on Russia’s border.”
