DA Calls Georgia Guidestones Destruction ‘Domestic Terrorism’ Despite Pelosi’s ‘People Will Do What They Do’

A District Attorney in Georgia called the destruction of the Georgia Guidestones “domestic terrorism” despite Nancy Pelosi previously saying “people will do what they do” in regards to statue destruction.

Northern Judicial Circuit DA Parks White, which covers Elbert County where the Guidestones were previously located, shared his stance in a Facebook post yesterday.

White is a “conservative Republican” according to a campaign page, although it appears to have not been updated recently, so hard to say if that is still the case.

It appears, however, that while White is attempting to enforce the law, as many mentioned in response, perhaps since that hasn’t occurred in other parts of the country, he should sit this one out.

White said in the post:

“Regardless of your feelings about the origin of the Guide Stones, their meaning, or the intention of the person who commissioned and erected them, they are a historical landmark, and this destructive act was an assault upon our community.”

“Detonating a massive explosive device capable of shattering a granite tablet in an area surrounded by residences is a criminal act which placed many people in peril of serious injury. The perpetrator of this act will be found and prosecuted.”

“The Official Code of Georgia Annotated section 16-7-88 proscribes using explosive devices to destroy public buildings. The Guide Stones are officially owned by the governing authority of Elbert County, and any structure open to the public and owned by a subdivision of the state is considered a public building.”

“The penalty for destroying any public building by explosive is a minimum of 20 years in prison without the possibility of parole.”

“The GBI already has many leads, and the case is being made against the perpetrator. If you have any information that could further this investigation, please contact the Georgia Bureau of investigation, Region 11, at 706-552-2309.”

“The District Attorney’s Office thanks anyone willing to come forward and help successfully prosecute this act of domestic terrorism.”

In one reply, Facebook user Douglas Paul asked, “But governments removing historical monuments just to appease the leftist agenda is okay?”

White responded, “I believe that history is important, and should be preserved. Feel free to vote against any representative who uses their power to remove historical monuments. However, that is part of the Democratic process.”

“An individual destroying monuments or buildings by way of explosive is an anarchist. If everyone were to undertake such an action against a structure that they believe represents something that they disagree with … well, I think you know where we would be,” White explained.

Paul then pressed, “Where have you been during the rioting this country has endured the past few years while governments sat by doing nothing? This monument takes precedence over 1000’s of peaceful business owners who lost their livelihoods?”

White then told him, “Prosecuting criminals locally. I don’t have much authority outside of the five counties of Northern Judicial Circuit. But I certainly agree with your frustration at the actions of the radical left and the rioters. Grateful that we have not experienced such criminality locally.”
