On Tuesday, Pennsylvania U.S. Senate candidates John Fetterman (D) and Mehmet Oz (R) had their one and only debate. Many were prepared for some delays from Fetterman as he had a stroke earlier this year.
Quickly it was very apparent as to why Fetterman’s camp had dodged debating. The debate was held in a studio with giant captioning prompters to accommodate Fetterman and no audience.
Even with all of that, Fetterman sounded robotic and confused when answering questions.
Stephen Miller from America First Legal tweeted,
“Just so we are all clear: that was Fetterman WITH weeks of prep and specialized computer assistance throughout. So what you just saw is the very, very best Fetterman can do. Which is terrifying.”
Greg Price shared a clip of Fetterman answering a question about why he hasn’t released his medical records.
“Mod: “Why haven’t you released your medical records?” Fetterman: “My doctors believe I am ready to be served.” Mod: “Why won’t you release the records?” Fetterman: “My doctor believes I am fit to be serving and I believe that is where I am standing.”
John Cardillo shared a clip where Fetterman was asked about his position on fracking and to elaborate on his stance from 2018, in which he stated he was against fracking.
Cardillo captioned the video, ”OMG, he’s completely shot.”
Townhall.com shared a clip of Fetterman where his answer doesn’t make sense as you can see he is missing words.
“FETTERMAN: “We all have to make sure that everyone that works is able to, that’s the most American bargain…you should be able to live in dignity as well true.”
It doesn’t appear to look good for Fetterman as the debate seemed telling for his current condition, leaving many to wonder why they haven’t just let him recover from his stroke without campaigning.
Who is pushing him to continue to run, many may wonder.
