Pop star Kellie Pickler, a contestant in American Idol in the early 2000s, just received some horrible and tragic news.
Kyle Jacobs, her husband and also a well established songwriter, was found dead at 49. He was found at his home in Nashville, TN. The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department issued a statement:
“located resident Kyle Jacobs, 49, deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound in an upstairs bedroom/office. His death is being investigated as an apparent suicide. Mr. Jacobs’ wife, Kellie Pickler, reported that she awoke a short time earlier, did not see her husband, and began looking for him. After she and her personal assistant were unable to open the door to the upstairs bedroom/office, the assistant telephoned 911.”
Jacobs married Pickler in 2011 as they romantically eloped. There have been other tragedies such as this lately in the country and pop music industry. In April of last year, Naomi Judd took her life.
The pair starred in their own reality show from 2015-2017 called “I love Kellie Pickler” which aired on CMT.
This is a developing story and may be updated with more information as time progresses. Kyle Jacobs sang an emotional Lee Brice song about tragedy years ago, at a festival:
