Media Right News just reported the news that President Trump is pardoning former 49ers owner Eddie DeBartolo and plans to commute the sentence of Democrat Rod Blagojevich. We speculated previously that there could be more pardons on the way.
President Trump, speaking to reporters at Joint Base Andrews just announced that he is also going to pardon former NYPD Commissioner, Bernie Kerik. According to NBC 4, Kerik went to federal prison for tax fraud and lying to the government, according to two sources familiar with the matter. Kerik also had associations with Former NY Mayor and Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani and also former President George W. Bush.
Kerik, a one-time nominee to be the nation’s homeland security chief, served three years in federal prison before his 2013 release.
Hailed as a hero for leading the NYPD during the 9/11 attacks, Kerik fell from grace when he became the first New York City police commissioner ever imprisoned on federal crimes.
His legal problems clouded the political fortunes of other elected officials, especially that of his mentor, former Mayor Rudy Giuliani.
More pardons could be in the pipeline so stay tuned for possible future news. President Trump won’t say if he plans to pardon Roger Stone at this time but did not say he wasn’t going to either.
