A Maskless Yamiche Alcindor Appears to Want Mask Mandates Reinstated Due to ‘People of Color and Front-Line Workers Being Put at Risk’

A very special moment has just ensued. Since the CDC and Biden administration has recently approved a partial overturning of mask mandates for vaccinated people, some are not happy.

NPR’s Yamiche Alcindor was called on during a recent Press Conference for President Biden’s Press Secretary Jen Psaki. Alcindor asked: “Can I ask, I want to also switch to Covid. The largest national nurses union is saying that the CDC guidelines on masks are putting front-line workers and especially people of color at risk. They’re calling for the CDC to reverse that. What’s the White House’s stance on that union in particular saying that their members and people of color are at risk?”

Psaki answered in part by saying that they don’t have a specific response to the union. The video that was posted to Twitter by Caleb Hull was then cut off and we could not get the rest of the clip. Hull posted:

“Unreal… @Yamiche just urged Jen Psaki to reverse the CDC guidance on no longer wearing masks once vaccinated because it puts “people of color at risk.” The best part about this is that Yamiche is a person of color and she’s not wearing a mask.”

Many Americans though mask mandates have already gone on for too long. But others think they need to be put back in place or stay in place for much longer. Some have even hinted they should be permanent.

There is speculation that the Biden administration along with the CDC may have flip-flopped on the mask policy because Joe Biden was under immense pressure regarding the Biden Border Crisis, gas prices, inflation, and many other things they have not addressed very well in our view.

It seems at this point anyone who wants to wear a mask still can. Meanwhile, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris say that if you’re not vaccinated you have to keep wearing masks indefinitely. They have not issued a statement that we know of regarding how they plan to enforce that rule, or if it’s just an honor system. Some have been worried that they may have to prove they’re vaccinated, while others speculate that if that happens it could be a violation of health privacy laws.
