During a House Judiciary Committee hearing today, an activist told U.S. House Rep Dan Bishop (R-NC) that men can get pregnant and have abortions.
The committee held the hearing today on abortion access as the nation awaits a final decision from the Supreme Court in a case that could result in the overturning of Roe v. Wade.
Activist Aimee Arrambide, who is the executive director of the “abortion-rights” nonprofit Avow Texas, testified at the hearing.
Arrambide announced her appearance in a tweet today, “Today I will be testifying and sharing my abortion story before the Congressional House Judiciary Committee.”
“Please send me good vibes. More importantly send me all the adorable dog memes, tik toks and reels. Cats too. Basically anything adorable or hilarious,” Arrambide urged.

In a clip shared from the hearing, Bishop asked Arrambide, “What do you say a woman is?”
“I think that everyone can identify for themselves,” Arrambide responded.
Bishop then followed up by wondering, “Do you believe then that men can become pregnant and have abortions?”
“Yes,” Arrambide told Bishop, nodding.
In a quote tweet, Bishop shared the clip and declared, “Trust the science!”
