Yesterday, it was reported that President Trump attempted to purchase exclusive rights to a vaccine for the Coronavirus that is currently being developed by a German company. Alyssa Milano took it a step further on Twitter by accusing the President of trying to “profit off the vaccine.”

A US official told AFP on Sunday that the report was “wildly overplayed”. “The US government has spoken with many [more than 25] companies that claim they can help with a vaccine. Most of these companies already received seed funding from US investors.”
The official also denied the US was seeking to keep any potential vaccine for itself. “We will continue to talk to any company that claims to be able to help. And any solution found would be shared with the world,” the official said.
Media outlet Business Insider also released an article on the matter with an inflammatory headline, claiming he was trying to “poach” the vaccine.

It is clear that President Trump is doing everything he can to try to get things back going in a positive direction for the American people and he said today he is willing to do “whatever it takes” to stop the spread.
