In a tweet published last night, AOC complained that “people will dismiss the substance of what I say due to my ‘tone.'” She then brought up President Trump, stating, “if you’re Trump, some of those same folks will cite “tone” to minimize his reckless flu comparisons, science denial, and lagging response costing 1000s of lives.”
When I advocate for basic human rights, people will dismiss the substance of what I say due to my “tone.” But if you’re Trump, some of those same folks will cite “tone” to minimize his reckless flu comparisons, science denial, and lagging response costing 1000s of lives. Wild.

Her tweet was in response to NBC/MSNBC reporter Jake Sherman responding to Washington Post White House Reporter Josh Dawsey’s tweet regarding Trump’s statement on the Coronavirus yesterday at the Daily Press Briefing by saying, “This is an absolutely new message and new tone from Trump.”
“We are going to go through a very tough two weeks,” Trump says, “… This is going to be a painful, very, very painful two weeks.”

It’s hard to believe that AOC doesn’t see that it is more her policies that many take issue with. Policies like advocating for “unconditional paid sick leave and family leave” for New Yorkers without offering up an economic solution for a state already heavily in debt. She did that in her very next tweet, which was a retweet of an interview she gave.
Rep. @AOC is raising red flags over conditions for someone to qualify for paid sick leave. For some, that means they need a positive test for the new coronavirus.

CBS also released a video this morning where they claim that Trump has shifted his tone regarding the Coronavirus. His supporters would say otherwise.
You guys PLEASE STAY HOME! It’s up to us to decide the outcome of this. Take it seriously!! Stop traveling, stop hanging out with friends, do your PART!
