Asian Reporter Takes Trump’s “Ask China” Answer Personal, Implies that Somehow it Was Racist

CBS reporter Weijia Jiang who appears to be of Asian ethnicity asked President Trump a question that he believed to be nasty at today’s press conference, the first press conference President Trump has held in about 17 days.

The Guardian reported that the president left abruptly after clashing with reporters. Oliver Darcy from CNN piled on by tweeting the video exchange between Jiang and President Trump. She questioned the administration’s motives by highlighting that the U.S. is testing more than other countries, bringing up the fact that people are still tragically dying.

President Trump clearly acknowledges that obvious fact but goes on to cite that her question is nasty. To speculate, he probably thought it was nasty because it somehow implies that perhaps President Trump doesn’t care about the people who are dying which is highly unlikely.

It’s also probably taken as nasty by the president because for weeks the media has pressed him on testing, not to mention perpetual tweets from Senate Minority leader Chuck Schumer (D), saying over and over again that President Trump doesn’t have an adequate testing system in place. Schumer’s bizarre and repetitive tweets almost give the feel of propaganda since he keeps posting the same thing over and over without posting a link or data to back it up. So Trump fired back in the way he always does, straight and to the point. He brought up China, where the virus is believed to have come from, and said that Jiang should ask China her “nasty” question about all the deaths. Weijia Jiang appears to imply that President Trump told her that because she is Asian herself, without specifically saying it, by asking him why he would ask her a thing like that basically.

You can really get a better sense of the situation’s egregious nature by watching the clip below, where the old race card appears to be getting played yet again against a president who has proven time and time again his non-racism in the eyes of his 63 million + supporters. WATCH:
