Microsoft founder Bill Gates recently went on record about a number of different things. He spoke about Jeffrey Epstein, Elon Musk’s likely Twitter takeover, and more. Speaking with “Today”, Gates expressed regret for not heeding his ex-wife Melinda’s warnings about Epstein.
Separately, he warned people not to underestimate Elon Musk, despite their personal feud, and reports that Gates has shorted Tesla stock at some point in the recent past. We are not aware, if that is true, whether or not Gates has covered any short positions, however.
“I certainly made a huge mistake not only meeting him in the first place, but I met with him a number of times,” Gates said to Savannah Guthrie on Tuesday. “I had a goal of raising money for global health. I didn’t realize that in meeting with him I almost downplayed the incredibly awful things he did.”
“EXCLUSIVE with @SavannahGuthrie: Savannah: Why did you continue to meet with [Jeffrey Epstein]? Bill Gates: “I’d add that to the list of big mistakes including, where Melinda’s advice was sound and I should have followed that sooner than I did.””

“You wouldn’t want to underestimate Elon,” he said later. He gave compliments to Tesla and Musk’s other work, potentially showing an about-face from his seeming stances about Tesla previously. “I don’t know specifically what he’ll do, but there’s an opportunity, and we need innovation in that space,” Gates said of Musk regarding Twitter.
Previously we reported on Musk’s potshot against Gates. Musk tried to change the subject, however, shortly after that, which makes us wonder if Gates reached out to Musk to try and smooth things over.
Bill Gates is left-leaning, to say the least. Musk is considered more a centrist, who feels more at home on the right now that the left keeps going further and further left it seems.
Time will tell how the Twitter saga plays out and if Musk because public enemy number one with the left while they simultaneously push for green energy that he has been a major part of. Musk has definitely put leftists in a tough spot.
