CNN’s Wolf Blitzer appeared to confuse some people when he announced he was reporting from Edinburgh, covering the COP26 climate summit. Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland. The COP26 climate summit was held in Glasgow though.
They aren’t exactly adjacent to each other either. We’re not sure if he’s in Edinburgh, reporting on the summit in Glasgow, or in Glasgow and mistakenly said he’s in Edinburgh, or in Glasgow and doesn’t know the summit is not in Glasgow. It’s just hard to say at this point.
It wouldn’t be that big of a deal if not for the fact that so many Americans, especially Trump supporters, often accuse CNN of being “fake news”. RT reported:
“CNN’s Wolf Blitzer proudly announced to viewers that he was ‘reporting from Edinburgh,’ covering the COP26 climate summit. Only one problem – the summit is in Glasgow.”

Wolf Blitzer:
“I’m now reporting from Edinburgh in Scotland where 20,000 world leaders and delegates have gathered for the COP26 Climate Summit. COP, by the way, stands for “Conference of the Parties.” It’s the 26th time they have gathered to discuss and take action on this critical issue.”

In the tweet just above, you can see where someone reported the discrepancy. Blitzer appears to try to cover up for the confusion is this even more confusing tweet:
Coming up, we'll have live coverage of President Biden's remarks at the COP26 climate summit in Glasgow, Scotland. Air Force One landed in Edinburgh and Biden made the drive to Glasgow where he was greeted by UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson & UN Secretary General António Guterres

Earlier today, National File reported that Joe Biden appeared to fall asleep at this summit, saying in part:
Throughout his tenure as President, and even beforehand, President Trump derided many of his political opponents with various nicknames ranging in accuracy. It seems however, that his nickname for Joe Biden, “Sleepy Joe,” has once again maintained its relevancy, with Biden appearing to doze off during the opening speeches of the COP26 climate summit in Glasgow.
