While Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and Democrats seethed with anger, Judge Amy Coney Barrett was confirmed to the Supreme Court today.
Republican Ohio House Rep. Jim Jordan celebrated the decision, tweeting out “Democrats, mad. Constitution, protected. Amy Coney Barrett, confirmed.”

The House Judiciary GOP Twitter account, which is the committee that Jordan chairs, noted the irony in the fact that today is Hillary Clinton’s birthday, tweeting out well wishes to her.

President Trump retweeted the Washington Post’s announcement tweet, which said, “Senate confirms Amy Coney Barrett to Supreme Court, cementing a 6-3 conservative majority with Trump’s third justice.”

Prior to the vote, Democratic Vice Presidential nominee and Sen. Kamala Harris (Ca.) tweeted, “I’m on my way to the Senate floor to vote no on Judge Amy Coney Barrett’s nomination to the Supreme Court.”
“Health coverage for millions of people hinges on who fills this seat. It’s clear that this nominee has the potential to do great harm to the American people,” she added.
