A report from ‘The Hill’ details how Ann Coulter has totally turned on 45th President Donald Trump. Anyone who has been paying attention to her on Twitter for the last few years already knew that though. Although Coulter supported Trump when he first got into politics, she isn’t happy with him, thinks he didn’t get enough done as president, and that he’s a grifter and a con man.
Coulter may think that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis will be better than Donald Trump. Many are hoping DeSantis emerges as the new GOP leader. However, DeSantis was slow to pass conservative legislation in Florida when others states were doing it and supporting removing a Confederate monument. Donald Trump may not be perfect but he has always been against removing historical monuments, among other differences between the two.
There’s an argument that may be made by some Republicans that southern Republicans care more about monuments than Republicans in areas like Montana for example, but it’s hard to say if that’s the case for sure. There are historical monuments all around the nation.
The left is going after non-Confederates now too, such as Abraham Lincoln. So, some like Ann Coulter may just be jealous of Donald Trump’s successes and angry that he hasn’t catered enough to them directly. It’s hard to say for sure. Coulter, who has no children as Donald Trump does, has had a rough life and a checkered past.
The left considers her far-right though until they find something they agree with that she says. Coulter’s father was in the FBI. She has never been married. She has dated right-wing pundit Dinesh D’Souza among other well-known names. From The Hill:
“Trump is done,” Coulter, a onetime Trump booster turned critic, wrote in an email to The New York Times. “You guys should stop obsessing over him.”
Coulter’s comments came in an article published in the Times on Sunday about the mounting tensions between Trump and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) amid speculation of a potential showdown for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination.
