Former President Trump and Truth Social CEO Devin Nunes are jumping for joy. As the Elon Musk Twitter takeover drama drags on, Truth Social just got another win.
As we previously reported, Trump’s platform competing with censorship heavy Twitter is now available on desktop, the Apple app store, and the Google Play store.
Trump simply posted a Breitbart article to Truth, stating that Truth is soaring to the top of the Android charts.
As we reported:
You can see the Breitbart article here.
Most of the “big tech” companies are seen as left wing friendly in the eyes of Trump supporters. However, Apple approved Trump’s app much sooner. In my view, I’d rather be approved by Apple than Google, if I had to pick one, but both is by far the better choice.
Now that almost anyone can get the Truth Social app, Trump has more time to build his platform while Musk’s Twitter takeover drags on. This is a major win for not only Trump, but Republicans ahead of the November election in our view. Many conservatives banned on Twitter can now get the word out on Truth, in addition to Donald Trump himself.
Twitter execs may argue that they simply enforce their rules evenhandedly, but tons of banned conservatives would argue otherwise.
Breitbart reported in part:
Upon becoming available, Truth Social quickly launched to the top of Android’s app downloads, making it not just the top social media app, but the most popular app in the Play Store overall, according to data from Sensor Tower.
