U.S. Sen Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) announced today that she has tested positive for COVID-19 in what she described as a “breakthrough case.”
In a tweet, the two-term senator explained, “I regularly test for COVID & while I tested negative earlier this week, today I tested positive with a breakthrough case.”
“Thankfully, I am only experiencing mild symptoms & am grateful for the protection provided against serious illness that comes from being vaccinated & boosted,” Warren continued.
Warren then offered a pitch: “As cases increase across the country, I urge everyone who has not already done so to get the vaccine and the booster as soon as possible – together, we can save lives.”

The White House recently enlisted the services of a cappela group Pentatonix, most known for their Christmas songs, and the Jonas Brothers to push Americans to get vaccinated and boosted.
Arizona GOP State Sen Wendy Rogers responded to the Pentatonix video with, “CRIIIIIIINGE.”

Prior to her announcement about the positive test, Warren tweeted, “Giant corporations and the super wealthy need to pay their fair share so we can invest in lowering costs for working families.”
“I’m fighting hard for child care, preschool, climate action, and to lower prescription drug prices. We cannot give up on the American people,” Warren added.

Warren has been engaged in a Twitter spat with richest man in the world Elon Musk and recently was called out for attempting to fundraise by accusing him of “freeloading off of working people.”
“The great state of Massachusetts deserves someone better,” Musk said on Friday in a tweet after being made aware that her term is up in 2024.
