Elon Musk Teases That There Is ‘Some Chance’ Fight Could Happen in the Colosseum After Report That Italy’s Culture Minister Reached Out to Mark Zuckerberg About Hosting the Event

In the latest twist to a potential bout between Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg, the Twitter CEO teased that there is “some chance” the fight could happen in the Colosseum.

The tweet from Musk came after a TMZ report that Italy’s culture minister had reached out to the Facebook CEO about hosting the event.

According to an update from TMZ this morning, however, the Ministry of Culture’s Office issued a statement that said, “There has been no formal contact from the ministry nor any written document, even if the news appears tasty it is unfounded.”

“If Zuckerberg and Musk wanted to perform in the Colosseum they would have to make a non-violent challenge,” the statement added.

Zuckerberg’s people reportedly passed on the message to UFC President Dana White, whose people contacted the Minister.

TMZ noted that no battles have taken place in the legendary venue at any time in recent history and that only a few hundred spectators could be seated temporarily.

Paul McCartney, however, did hold a concert in the venue in 2003, performing for around 400 attendees.

It is expected that the event would draw millions to watch on live stream, so how many can watch in person is likely irrelevant.

On Tuesday, pictures were shared of Musk allegedly training for a potential matchup with himself and Zuckerberg in a tweet.

Musk also shared a YouTube clip in a reply to his tweet about the potential bout going down in Rome from the movie Monty Python’s Life of Brian.

The comedy depicts a man running from a warrior and winning a fight to the death after the warrior has a heart attack chasing him.

As we previously reported, Musk’s mother, Maye, has attempted to overrule him and say that any potential fight is “canceled.”
