Former Attorney General Bill Barr has been getting hit hard from the left lately after a memo was released that they believe shows that he shielded the 45th President Donald Trump from prosecution over the Mueller Report.
In an apparent attempt to give the left some red meat, Barr spoke with journalist Bari Weiss on her podcast “Honestly.”
During the podcast, Barr accused Trump of relying on “extortion” and “sabotage” to maintain his position as leader of the Republican party.
Barr attempted to suggest that there was no such thing as a RINO, telling Weiss that “The idea that there are RINOs, people that really don’t support Republican principles, is simply not true.”
“What the president is defining as RINOs are people who are true blue Republicans and conservatives but who just have a problem with Trump personally,” Barr insisted.
Ultimately, however, Barr said that he would still vote for him if Trump were to run against a progressive Democrat in 2024.
Barr called Trump the “lesser-of-two-evils choice” and that he would chose Trump over Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, or California Governor Gavin Newsom.
Despite polls indicating otherwise, when asked whom he thinks will become president in the next election, Barr said, “If I had to bet, I would probably bet [Ron] DeSantis.”
