U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC), who has been known to flip-flop, did so once again after former President Donald Trump announced his presidential run last night.
Graham had initially responded to a question earlier yesterday about whether he would endorse Trump if he announced by saying, “Let’s see what he says … I’ll tell you after Georgia.”
Apparently impressed by the announcement by Trump, Graham changed his tune last night in a two-part tweet.
Graham began by insisting that, “If President Trump continues this tone and delivers this message on a consistent basis, he will be hard to beat.”
“His speech tonight, contrasting his policies and results against the Biden Administration, charts a winning path for him in the primaries and general election,” Graham continued.
Graham concluded, “As we listen to President Trump remind us of what is possible regarding our borders, economy, and national security, it is my hope that he will continue to focus on the solutions that he offered tonight to restore a broken America.”

HuffPost wasted no time laying into Graham for the reversal, publishing an article titled, “Of Course Lindsey Graham Is Already Kissing Donald Trump’s Butt Again.”
The outlet referenced CNN’s “fact-checking reporter” Daniel Dale, who said Trump’s address was full of “wildly incorrect” claims and was only subdued because Trump read from a teleprompter.
Rick Wilson with the disgraced Lincoln Project had his response to Graham’s tweet listed as he asked, “So, did they remove your sense of shame surgically, or was it some kind of genetic alteration?”
“I mean, you actually typed these tweets knowing everything you know,” Wilson pointed out.
