Florida U.S. House Rep Byron Donalds Applauds Gov. DeSantis for ‘Banning Critical Race Theory in Our Schools’

Earlier, we reported that this morning, the Florida Board of Education approved a rule that Governor Ron DeSantis advanced, which will effectively ban education on critical race theory.

The rules read: “Instruction on the required topics must be factual and objective and may not suppress or distort significant historical events, such as the Holocaust, and may not define American history as something other than the creation of a new nation based largely on universal principles stated in the Declaration of Independence.”

In a tweet, DeSanits shared video of himself speaking to the State Board of Education on the importance of keeping critical race theory out of our schools.

U.S. House Rep Byron Donalds (R-FL) issued a tweet of his own on the matter in support of DeSantis.

In the tweet, Donalds announced, “I applaud @GovRonDeSantis for banning Critical Race Theory in our schools. We must tell our country’s great story of redemption and teach our children patriotism.”

“Every child should know they have a shot at the American Dream and that we ARE the greatest country in the world,” Donalds added.

Donalds recently has been the subject of controversy after he reportedly is being denied entry into the Congressional Black Caucus because he is a Republican.

“My support of President Trump has been consistent, but at the same time, I have had the ability to advocate for [the] Black community in my state,” Donalds said in a CNN interview.

In a tweet where he shared the video from his appearance, Donalds said, “This morning, I joined @CNN to discuss the importance of diverse thought and political ideology in the Congressional Black Caucus.”

“As a young Black man born into the inner city, my perspective and conservative ideals should be welcomed to the CBC, not ignored,” Donalds explained.
