In a Wall Street Journal op-ed published yesterday, left-wing billionaire George Soros was defiant in the face of urban crime spikes.
Soros vowed to continue helping woke Democrat District Attorneys get elected in the piece which was titled, “Why I Support Reform Prosecutors.”
“Justice or safety? It’s a false choice. They reinforce each other,” Soros insisted.
Soros argued that his agenda pushed by top prosecutors like Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg was both “popular” and “effective.”
“This agenda includes prioritizing the resources of the criminal-justice system to protect people against violent crime.”
“It urges that we treat drug addiction as a disease, not a crime. And it seeks to end the criminalization of poverty and mental illness.”
“The goal is not defunding the police but restoring trust between the police and the policed, a partnership that fosters the solving of crimes.”
The New York Post pointed out that Soros published the op-ed as some of the District Attorneys he helped get elected face backlash.
San Francisco voters recalled DA Chesa Boudin over spikes in shoplifting, open-air drug dealing and broad daylight assaults, often against Asian-Americans, although Soros representatives have denied ties to him.
In Los Angeles, DA George Gascon, who got nearly $3 million in campaign funds from Soros according to the Post is also facing a recall effort.
