Someone named Kimberly Moore apparently tried to launch a GoFundMe campaign. This was an attempt to raise $1 Million to help Amber Heard pay part of her monies owed to Johnny Depp after the recent lawsuit that did not go in her favor.
TMZ reports that Moore claimed to be in contact with Heard’s legal team and that it was a legit and above board fundraiser.
On the page, the plan for the campaign read:
“I believe Amber, and social media protected the abuser. The judgment exceeds her net worth. It’s so sad that he was able to get away with the abuse. The judgment furthers that abuse. If you can please help her.”
GoFundMe disputed this was official or that Heard’s team approved it and took down the fundraising attempt before a substantial amount could be raised.
There has been lots of speculation about how Heard will pay Depp $8.35 million. Her team says she can’t afford to pay. Perhaps Depp will show “mercy”, or perhaps there will be a bankruptcy.
For the particular aforementioned fundraiser however, it’s definitely a no go.
TMZ says Heard isn’t doing a fundraiser on GoFundMe at this time.
