U.S. Sen John Thune (R-SD) had harsh words today for Joe Biden and his “border czar” Kamala Harris in regards to the southern border crisis.
Thune eviscerated the pair for doing “essentially nothing” to address the crisis that continues to spiral out of control according to the latest figures.
“Addressing the situation at the southern border should be one of this administration’s top priorities, but the president has been almost completely AWOL on this issue, as has his supposed border czar, the vice president,” Thune began in a clip tweeted by The Hill.
Thune continued, “He seems to be hoping that if he ignores this crisis long enough it will go away, but it hasn’t gone away Mr. President.”
“In fact, it shows no signs of stopping. It’s hard to overemphasize the depth of the president’s dereliction of duty on this issue,” Thune railed.
Thune explained, “After all, it is the president’s job to deal with national security and border enforcement, and yet the president continues to do essentially nothing to address the situation at our southern border.”
“He can’t even be bothered to visit the border,” Thune added.

While the number of illegal immigrants who entered U.S. custody along the border with Mexico decreased by 14% in January from the previous month, it is an all-time high for January.
More than 100 Congressional Democrats sent a letter to Biden today condemning the Trump-era Title 42 and highlighted the policy’s impact on black illegal immigrants.
