In a move that is sure to enrage the left, Texas GOP Gov. Greg Abbott issued a new executive order blocking government entities from mandating vaccinations, even if the COVID-19 vaccine is fully approved by the Food and Drug Administration.
Earlier this week, the FDA approved the Pfizer vaccine, which brought into question whether Abbott’s previous executive order blocking emergency use vaccines would still apply.
Abbott also asked the Texas legislature to pass a law during the ongoing special session that would codify the ban on vaccine mandates.

In the order, Abbott also reiterated his ban on vaccine passports as he declared, “No consumer may be denied entry to a facility financed in whole or in part by public funds for failure to provide documentation regarding the consumer’s vaccination status.”

In Florida, GOP State Rep Anthony Sabatini filed a bill yesterday to repeal state laws allowing for mandatory vaccinations during a state of emergency.
Sabatini issued a statement where he said, “I am continuing to call for a Special Session to pass this important bill. This is the first of two bills that I plan to file that will eliminate the ability of local governments and woke corporations from mandating vaccines for employees or the public.”
Earlier this year, Florida GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis pushed for and signed into law SB 2006, which bans businesses from requiring vaccine passports.
Previously, we reported:
Recently, Montana was the first state to ban private companies from mandating Covid vaccines. This happened under Republican Governor Greg Gianforte’s watch.
Whether you support vaccine mandates or not, it was certainly a bold move by Gianforte to sign that into legislation. While we take the virus seriously, it’s important to allow free speech, and freedom of people to be against having to choose between their job and a personal medical decision in our view.
Governor Noem of South Dakota claims she doesn’t have the authority to do what Montana just clearly did. Noem says she’s vaccinated and recommends people get the vaccine, but says she wants people to be able to still choose for themselves.
“South Dakota has not imposed any mandates. In fact, I was the only Governor in America who never ordered a single business or church to close. Frankly, I don’t think that businesses should be mandating that their employees be vaccinated either. And if they do, they should be making religious and other exemptions available to them. But I don’t have the authority as Governor to tell them what to do…” she continues in the clip below:
