In an interview today on Steve Bannon’s “War Room,” U.S. House Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) defended former President Donald Trump against those blaming him for the midterm election results.
Many were predicting a red wave but it appears now that while the GOP is poised to flip the House and potentially the Senate still, it didn’t go as much in their favor as had been hoped.
A number of Republicans today want to move in the direction of making Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis the new leader of the party and the favorite for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination if he runs.
“Now they’re trying to blame President Trump today and I want to tell you how shortsighted and ridiculous that is,” Greene began in a clip that was shared in a tweet by The Columbia Bugle.
As for those who would think that way, Greene continued, “And I want to tell you how shortsighted and ridiculous that is. That is a lazy, pathetic, wimpy, easy mindset.”
Greene then pointed out how Trump is being “persecuted” by the Biden administration and the DOJ currently.
Additionally, Greene noted how much work Trump put in this election to try to get candidates elected.
Of the blame game mentality, Greene declared, “I’m not going to have that today. It needs to end and I’m sick and tired of it.”
As we reported yesterday, Greene praised Trump for not announcing Monday night, although she said that she wished he did.
Many in the America First movement had said they didn’t want him to do so prior to the midterms because they felt that it could negatively affect the midterms.
“[Trump’s] held 30 rallies in 17 states, hosted 43 telerallies & 52 candidate fundraisers, & endorsed 285 candidates while being politically persecuted,” Greene explained.
Greene also coasted to re-election in her Congressional race as her projected victory was announced as soon as the polls closed.
Earlier, we reported that former co-host of ABC’s “The View” Meghan McCain was among the vocal detractors of Trump.
