Joe Biden yesterday awkwardly closed a speech on abortion by telling the audience, “Thank you, I’m sorry” after stumbling throughout.
A clip from Breaking911 showed Biden’s conclusion to the speech as he said, “Together, let’s remember who we are. We are the United States of America, and there’s nothing beyond our capacity. “
“So vote, vote, vote! God bless you all. And may God protect our troops. Thank you, I’m sorry.” Biden concluded as music began to play.
However, as the White House transcript noted and the video shows, Biden did later explain, after turning around “I was apologizing for my back” as the music abruptly and even more awkwardly stopped playing.
“My mother would be very angry. I was talking with people with my back to them. I apologize. So, thank you all so very, very much,” Biden claimed.
The speech from Biden took place at a political event at the Howard Theatre and the signs that attendees were holding up behind him said things like “Defend Choice” and “Restore Roe.”

Fox News reported that during the speech, Biden also mispronounced Obergefell, when referencing Obergefell v. Hodges, the Supreme Court decision that required states to recognize and license same-sex marriages in 2015.
Biden renewed his commitment to signing a law “codifying Roe” in January if Democrats hold the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate, Fox News noted as well.
“The Dobbs decision — the Court practically dares women to go ahead and lead and be heard,” Biden insisted.
