During a press conference today, Joe Biden said that he is confident Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) will be “back to his old self” after a bizarre second “freezing” incident.
As we previously reported, McConnell appeared to freeze yesterday during a press conference of his own, the second time that has happened in as many months.
Biden was asked by a reporter if he had spoken to McConnell and he responded that he had talked to him on the phone.
“It’s not at all unusual to have a response that sometimes happens to Mitch when you’ve had a severe concussion,” Biden explained.
Biden added that “It’s part of the recovery and so I’m confident he’s going to be back to his old self” and said that he didn’t have any concerns about McConnell’s ability to do his job after being asked an additional question about that.

The Capitol physician earlier today cleared McConnell to resume his duties and said in a statement, “I have consulted with Leader McConnell and conferred with his neurology team.”
“After evaluating yesterday’s incident, I have informed Leader McConnell that he is medically clear to continue with his schedule as planned,” the statement continued.
The statement concluded, “Occasional lightheadedness is not uncommon in concussion recovery and can also be expected as a result of dehydration.”
Fox News contributor and civil rights attorney Leo Terrell isn’t so sure and, as we reported previously, has called for McConnell to resign in light of the troubling incidents.
