Joe diGenova: ‘Anonymous’ NYT Hit Piece Author Identified as White House Official and Will Be Removed Soon

OPINION:

Former U.S. Attorney and mega Trump supporter Joe diGenova has opined on some exclusive information he claims to have. This seems to be some very timely information, in the wake of a huge shakeup by the Trump administration in Washington D.C. This shakeup so far includes getting rid of Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman and his brother from their White House posts and removing E.U. Ambassador Gordan Sondland from his post as well.

Earlier today we published information about a report that 70 Obama era holdovers are being purged as well from the NSC. Well, Joe diGenova, a relatively reliable source, is claiming to have some solid information, but he isn’t naming names just yet. The former U.S. Attorney claims to have been told by a “senior government official” that the “anonymous” writer of a New York Times hit piece claiming to be part of the Trump resistance in the White House has been identified and will soon get a swift ouster. The hit piece from September 5th, 2018 included, in part:

President Trump is facing a test to his presidency unlike any faced by a modern American leader.

It’s not just that the special counsel looms large. Or that the country is bitterly divided over Mr. Trump’s leadership. Or even that his party might well lose the House to an opposition hellbent on his downfall.

[The author of this Op-Ed will publish a book in November 2019 titled “A Warning.”]

The dilemma — which he does not fully grasp — is that many of the senior officials in his own administration are working diligently from within to frustrate parts of his agenda and his worst inclinations.

I would know. I am one of them.

To be clear, ours is not the popular “resistance” of the left. We want the administration to succeed and think that many of its policies have already made America safer and more prosperous.

But we believe our first duty is to this country, and the president continues to act in a manner that is detrimental to the health of our republic.

That is why many Trump appointees have vowed to do what we can to preserve our democratic institutions while thwarting Mr. Trump’s more misguided impulses until he is out of office.

The root of the problem is the president’s amorality. Anyone who works with him knows he is not moored to any discernible first principles that guide his decision making.

Although he was elected as a Republican, the president shows little affinity for ideals long espoused by conservatives: free minds, free markets and free people. At best, he has invoked these ideals in scripted settings. At worst, he has attacked them outright.

Well, it looks like this person’s time may be up. According to The Washington Examiner, diGenova spoke in an interview with WMAL’s Mornings on the Mall. The Examiner claims to have reached out to the White House for comment on the story, but to no avail. We will soon find out if diGenova’s story rings true, and if the White House gave him explicit permission to release this information ahead of time.

Being that diGenova considers himself an ally of President Trump’s most likely, he probably didn’t do so to cause any harm. The anonymous person also released a book, “A Warning” last November. It’s unclear if this does occur if it will be a simple firing or if the name will be outed, and if there will be legal repercussions to follow for the anonymous “resister” who has allegedly run out of time.
