A pair of articles from 2018 have been unearthed that puts the blame squarely on former NSC head John Bolton for the disbanding of the pandemic response team. One of his first orders of business after being hired was to fire Homeland Security Advisor Tom Bossert and Rear Admiral Tim Ziemer, the pandemic expert, resigned.

Bolton has attempted to defend his decision despite Coronavirus Task Force member and NIH Director Dr. Fauci saying, “It would be nice if the office was still there.”
