Josh Hawley Responds to Schumer’s ‘Non-Apology’, Doubles Down on Call for Censure

OPINION:

Earlier this morning we reported on a story about Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) calling for the censure of Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY). This was in response to Senator Schumer screaming about Justice’s Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch, claiming they “won’t know what hit you” at a pro-abortion rally yesterday.

This was in the context of implying that Schumer doesn’t think the Supreme Court justices will vote in favor of the Democrat’s anti-pro-life stance. See the original speech from Chuck Schumer below:

This morning, Senator Schumer took to the floor after being lambasted by Mitch McConnell, and many others from both parties. He issued sort of a half-hearted apology as you can see in the video below, where he implies that people from Brooklyn perhaps, are allowed to speak differently because they’re, well, from Brooklyn.

After Senator Hawley’s original call to censure, many others seemingly implied that perhaps it’d be ok if Senator Schumer started by apologizing. Hawley fired back quickly after Schumer’s weak excuse for an apology quickly on Twitter, saying that it isn’t an apology at all and that the censure proceedings should commence.

Hawley: “Schumer refusing to take responsibility. This non-apology is the equivalent of “I’m sorry you feel that way.” He threatened #SupremeCourt Justices. Personally. By name. He should be censured”. See tweet below:
