Joy Reid Appears to Agree With Tweet Likening a Woman Being Pregnant to Slavery Amid Texas Abortion Bill Outrage

Joy Reid, of MSNBC, has a well-documented history of saying wacky things. Many have questioned over the years if it was a Fox News host saying equally as radical right-wing commentary if they’d still have their jobs. Of course, we know the rules aren’t the same though.

Meanwhile, Democrats are furious that Texas banned abortion after six weeks. Not only that, the Supreme Court of the United States voted 5-4 that they could do it.

This has led many to question if Roe v Wade will be overturned. Lots of Democrats have predictably compared Texas to a Netflix show called “The Handmaid’s Tale” as well. Reid, while on one of her usual Twitter tirades, posted a GIF of a woman in a hat as you can see below.

This prompted an apparent fan of Reid’s to tweet:

“Has anyone considered filing a civil rights suit under the 13th A? Converting women into chattel, because they’re pregnant (host bodies), appears to be the definition of involuntary servitude.”

Involuntary servitude is another way of saying slavery. Reid responded to the bizarre question by quote tweeting the fan, in apparent agreement:

“Good question. Anybody know?”

It’s hard to say for sure what Reid or her fan means, but it appears to me they are likening two things together that are not the same.
