Kari Lake today shared pictures of herself with legendary actor Mel Gibson in a viral Facebook post where she said, “God bless you, Mel.”
It is unclear when the pictures were taken, however, as Lake said prior to the Arizona gubernatorial election she had lunch with Gibson and the two were seen together in the pictures sharing a meal.
Lake also said in the post today, “Thank God for the creative genius of Mel Gibson. Without him there would be (very) few movies for me to enjoy.”
Lake’s post drew the ire of left-wing troll Ron Filipowski who shared one of the pictures in a tweet and said, “Mel Gibson and Kari Lake comparing notes.”

As the Washington Examiner reported in October 2022, Lake responded to a question, âAny actor whoâs been canceled is now my favorite actor.”
“Because that means they are probably doing something good,” Lake added with a laugh before describing a quick trip to California where she had lunch with Gibson.
âHe made some of the only films I can stomach anymore because everythingâs gone so woke. Pinch me! I still canât believe I sat next to Mel Gibson for lunch. He came to meet me, and I just said, ‘Thank you for making such great movies!'” Lake declared.
Lake mentioned some of her favorite movies that Gibson was in including “Braveheart,” “The Patriot,” and “Apocalypto.”
âWithout him making these amazing movies, I donât know what I would watch because Iâve become really difficult to watch movies with,â Lake explained.
Lake added, “The minute I start seeing woke stuff happening, I start pointing it out. ‘Did you see that? That was really â’ My kids say, ‘Mom, we canât watch movies with you anymore.’ Unless the movie was from the 1980s, Iâm just â I canât watch it anymore.”
