The leak of the news will certainly have a reverberating effect and already, according to the DC Examiner’s Cami Mondeaux, who tweeted that “barricades are up around the Supreme Court building, just minutes after reports from Politico were leaked indicating SCOTUS has voted to overturn Roe v. Wade.”
“This SCOTUS leak is part of an intimidation campaign,” the Columbia Bugle suggested in a quote tweet of Mondeaux.

As we previously reported, in the document that POLITICO obtained Alito writes, “We hold that Roe and Casey must be overruled. It is time to heed the Constitution and return the issue of abortion to the people’s elected representatives.”
“This concurs with what many speculated, abortion will be a state issue with this ruling, meaning each state will be in charge of how they regulate abortion. Many states have already taken action in anticipation of this ruling,” Alito explained.
Kate Smith shared on Twitter, “BREAKING The Supreme Court appears to plan to fully overturn Roe v Wade, according to an initial draft majority opinion written by Justice Samuel Alito obtained by @politico. Read more, including the draft itself, here:”
Kate Smith addresses the unusual circumstances of the leak. “SCOTUS experts: Have you ever seen a leak like this? This feels unprecedented. Answer, from the article: “No draft decision in the modern history of the court has been disclosed publicly while a case was still pending. The unprecedented revelation is bound to intensify the debate over what was already the most controversial case on the docket this term.”
This is a developing story and we will update as more information comes available.
