It was reported today that both U.S. Sens Mitt Romney (UT) and Lisa Murkowski (AK) planned to join U.S. Sen Susan Collins (ME) as three Republicans who intend to vote “Yes” on Joe Biden’s Supreme Court nominee, Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson.
Romney said of the decision, “After reviewing Judge Jackson’s record and testimony, I have concluded that she is a well-qualified jurist and a person of honor.”
“While I do not expect to agree with every decision she may make on the Court, I believe that she more than meets the standard of excellence and integrity,” Romney insisted.
Murkowski offered a similar explanation as she declared, “My support rests on Judge Jackson’s qualifications, which no one questions; her demonstrated judicial independence; her demeanor and temperament; and the important perspective she would bring to the court as a replacement for Justice Breyer.”
Of the trio, Murkowski is the only one who is up for re-election this year and her primary opponent Kelly Tshibaka slammed her decision in a statement.
“The long guessing game is over. Lisa Murkowski is supporting a leftist SCOTUS nominee who will write legislation from the bench and have the potential to harm Alaskans for decades to come,” Tshibaka began.
Tshibaka then brought up the fact that Murkowski refused to give one of then-President Donald Trump’s nominees, now Justice Brett Kavanaugh, her support, as she voted “Present” instead.
Additionally, Tshibaka pointed out that Murkowski voted “no” on another one of Trump’s nominees, now Justice Amy Coney Barrett, to be advanced out of committee.
After explaining why she doesn’t believe Judge Jackson should be confirmed, Tshibaka concluded, “When I’m the next senator from Alaska, I won’t make the people wait for my decisions, and I will always support only strong, conservative constitutionalist nominees.”

As we previously reported:
A fired up Wendy Rogers lashed out at U.S. Sen Susan Collins (R-ME) after the five-term senator announced that she will vote for Joe Biden’s Supreme Court nominee, Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson.
Collins told the New York Times, “I have decided to support the confirmation of Judge Jackson to be a member of the Supreme Court.”
In a tweet, Rogers reported on the news, “Susan Collins is voting for Biden’s vile SCOTUS nominee.”
“Susan Collins is a communist and a traitor,” Rogers declared.
