Kevin McCarthy Caves, Accepts Meeting with Joe Biden to Plan Out Raising the Debt Ceiling and Increase U.S. Debt Even More

Opinion:

U.S. House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) claims he was invited to pal around (in our words only) with far left Democrat President Joe Biden.

While we understand that there are times when Republicans have to work with Democrats to get things done, it won’t be surprising to us if many Republicans view this chumming it up with initial skepticism as we are in our opinion.

Although we don’t know what the ultimate outcome will be? Raising the debt ceiling instead of dramatically cutting spending is bad in our opinion. Many political analysts may push back on such an opinion with arguments such as “there are not enough votes on both sides of the aisle to do that fast enough so the ceiling has to be raised immediately to prevent default or credit rating decreases and we can deal with cutting spending later”.

There would be technical truth to such an argument. However, this is the same argument, every time the government increases the debt ceiling, further saddling our children and grandchildren with massive debt beyond anything the United States has ever seen in the history of the nation.

An example of pushback to make progress instead of immediately looking for a deal, even with some concessions, would be the 20 stalwart America First conservatives who stood up to McCarthy initially for House Speaker in the first place.

Many hardline conservatives only realized after that “sausage making process” how useful the seemingly inconvenient showdown was to the conservatives in the house.

If only McCarthy had learned something from U.S. House Rep. Bob Good (R-VA) and others about negotiating, instead of “attacking” his (and others’) credibility via proxy, perhaps something better may have had a better chance of something good getting done here.

Perhaps something good will get done indeed, as the process continues to play out. But by the looks of it it appears fiscal conservatives will once again come out as temporary (permanent) losers is out guess – estimation. McCarthy recently tweeted:

“President Biden: I accept your invitation to sit down and discuss a responsible debt ceiling increase to address irresponsible government spending. I look forward to our meeting.”

Stay tuned to this developing situation which could still indeed change quickly.

  1. McCarthy is and always has been a swamp dwelling power hungry globalist sell out. He is scum and will get on his knees before Biden and take it in the lower colon.
