U.S. House Rep Lauren Boebert (R-CO) is a habitual tweeter. However, many still like to know what the more boisterous reps have to say, whether they are frequent social media flyers, or not. There are many highly respected politicians who do not use social media very often, and they run things a different way.
Meanwhile, big tech tends to censor many conservatives, and that brings to the forefront the ones who are still left available to tweet or post to other platforms. Arguably, Twitter censors more than Facebook, in the sense of permanent bans.
Facebook still has a heavy censorship hand, however. Many have argued that big tech social media platforms act as publishers, partially controlled by the left and the ad agencies, rather than true free speech platforms.
META CEO Mark Zuckerberg has signaled that he wants to allow more speech than Twitter, and Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal has signaled that he is not really for free speech, at all, and that it is definitely not his priority.
Elon Musk’s deal to buy Twitter could close within a week, and between that and the upcoming elections, many are craving big changes in the way that Americans are able to get their messages out and even how they communicate with friends and family.
Boebert made a short but sweet statement regarding this lately which is getting lots of feedback on Twitter:
“The American people will have their voices heard loud and clear very soon. The “woke” era will be over.”

The “woke” era will be over.
Many leftists think or imply that “woke” is simply what is most popular. However, right-wingers feel that woke is something forced by censorship, control, and forced narratives, in their opinion. Elon Musk recently even tweeted about this, asking why the “current thing” is adhered to by so many and where it even comes from, in so many words.
“Think about who might have decided “The Current Thing” before accepting it”

“Who decides “The Current Thing?” Real question. I don’t know.”

Real question. I don’t know.
Although Boebert’s tweet is mainly about the mid-terms, the Musk Twitter deal plays right into the same conversation nicely. Many wonder if Joe Biden will stop Musk from allowing free speech, as the administration is considering an investigation of Elon Musk’s Twitter buyout and Starlink support in Ukraine.
Many Democrats didn’t want Musk to buy Twitter, then they wanted to make him, and now they don’t want him to again. This highlights the need to control the narrative no matter what is happening in our view as well.
U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has predicted Democrats will do fine and hold the house and isn’t sure if she wants to stay speaker. Many think she is just wishfully thinking, but time will tell.
Meanwhile, election integrity has been front and center, and it’s not even easy to discuss opinions and details of this topic without being censored or banned on some platforms in the eyes of many. As we follow all the moving parts and continue to carefully opine our views without facing muzzles ourselves, we will see if Boebert’s prediction comes true anytime soon.
Elections can be unpredictable and social media is a frontier hard to conquer by any one person.
