Last night, White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany shared a tweet calling out CNN’s Anderson Cooper for presenting a story that could easily be prove as not true.
McEnany tweeted, “FAKE NEWS from CNN that is disproven by the official White House Pool Report written by a reporter. WATCH Anderson Cooper FALSELY claim my husband cheered for me at the White House Press Briefing & read the pool report below noting it was actually a reporter cheering!”
McEnany then shared an image of a pool report,to be sent in an email response, and it indicated that a maskless Sean Gilmartin, McEnany’s husband, was not the person who shouted, but instead a nearby reporter with First Class Fatherhood.

The segment that Cooper ran ironically used the words “(un)reality show” to describe it.
This morning, Cooper issued a correction that began, “On 360 tonight we said Kayleigh McEnany’s husband cheered her on during today’s press briefing. The report was based on a pool report from inside the room.”
“That pool report was later corrected, noting it was not Kayleigh’s husband who cheered her on,” although the email shows that it was sent in the afternoon. The correction concludes, “Our apologies for the error.”
McEnany was not buying it and let Cooper know. “Correcting false reporting on Twitter after perpetuating an inaccurate story on prime time TV does little.”
“Anderson Cooper had 6+ hours to read the new pool report, but ran with a false story instead. This is “journalism” today: Lie first. Apologize after,” she added, tagging Cooper’s show and CNN.

Host of the podcast who had cheered on McEnany, Alec Lace with First Class Fatherhood, tweeted out last night at Cooper for his mistake as well, although it appears his wishes were ignored.
Lace said while tagging Cooper’s show, “Hey Anderson Cooper when you put out your apologies or correction, Please include the hashtag #FirstClassFatherhood, my handle @AlecLace and the link to my show – https://linktr.ee/alec_lace Thank you!”
